TERMS OF USE

Last Modified: May 2026

Acceptance of the Terms of Use

These Terms of Use are entered into by and between you and Light Blue Learning, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” or “us”), the operator of Write with Milo. The following terms and conditions govern your access to and use of writewithmilo.com, including all content, functionality, and services offered on or through the Website (the “Website” and “Services”), whether as a guest or a registered user.

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the Website. By using the Website, or by clicking to accept or agree to these Terms of Use when that option is made available to you, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy at Write with Milo Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you must not access or use the Website.

Write with Milo is intended for use by educators who are 18 years of age or older. By using the Website, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract with the Company. Students do not register for or access accounts on the Website.

Pilot and Beta Program

Write with Milo is currently offered as a free pilot program. Access to the Services during the pilot period is provided at no charge. The Company reserves the right to modify, limit, or discontinue the pilot program at any time without notice. Participation in the pilot does not guarantee future access, pricing, or availability of the Services. We may introduce paid tiers or subscription options in the future, and we will provide reasonable notice before any such changes take effect for registered users.

Changes to the Terms of Use

We may revise and update these Terms of Use from time to time in our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when posted and apply to all access to and use of the Website thereafter. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users of material changes by email. Your continued use of the Website following notice of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms of Use. You are expected to review this page periodically so you are aware of any changes.

Accessing the Website and Account Security

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Website, and any service or material we provide on the Website, in our sole discretion without notice. We will not be liable if all or any part of the Website is unavailable at any time or for any period.

To access the Services, teachers must register for an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring that persons who access the Website through your account are aware of and comply with these Terms of Use
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at privacy@writewithmilo.com

Student access to the Website is limited to temporary session codes provided by their teacher. Students do not create accounts or log in with persistent credentials. Teachers are responsible for ensuring appropriate use of session codes within their classrooms.

Teachers are responsible for managing active Writing Projects and exporting completed student writing to school-approved platforms where applicable.

We have the right to disable any account or access credential at any time in our sole discretion, including if we believe you have violated any provision of these Terms of Use.

Intellectual Property Rights

The Website and its entire contents, features, and functionality — including all software, text, displays, images, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof — are owned by the Company or its licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

These Terms of Use permit you to use the Website solely for your personal, professional, non-commercial use as an educator. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, republish, download, store, or transmit any material from the Website except as follows:

  • Your computer may temporarily store copies of materials in RAM incidental to your accessing and viewing those materials
  • You may store files automatically cached by your browser for display enhancement purposes
  • You may print or download a reasonable number of pages for your own personal, non-commercial professional use

You must not modify copies of any materials from the Website, remove any copyright or proprietary notices, or use any materials for any commercial purpose. Any use of the Website not expressly permitted by these Terms of Use is a breach of these Terms of Use and may violate applicable law.

Trademarks

The Company name, Light Blue Learning, Write with Milo, Milo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, and slogans are trademarks of the Company or its affiliates. You must not use such marks without the prior written permission of the Company. All other names, logos, and trademarks on the Website are the property of their respective owners.

Prohibited Uses

You may use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms of Use. You agree not to use the Website:

  • To exploit, harm, or attempt to exploit or harm minors in any way
  • To transmit any advertising or promotional material without our prior written consent
  • To impersonate the Company, a Company employee, another user, or any other person or entity

Educator Responsibilities and Student Data

Teachers who use Write with Milo are responsible for ensuring their use of the Services complies with all applicable school, district, and state policies regarding student privacy and data use, including but not limited to FERPA and applicable state student privacy laws.

Write with Milo is designed to minimize student data collection. Students participate in sessions anonymously using temporary codes and are identified only by anonymous labels (e.g., Writer A).

While a Writing Project is active, the Services may temporarily store student outline and first-draft writing content in order to support continuation across classroom sessions, re-entry support, and writing support functionality.

Student writing content is associated only with anonymous Writer labels and is not used for grading, revision analytics, grammar scoring, advertising, profiling, publishing, or AI model training.

Student writing content is retained only while a Writing Project remains active and during the recovery window following project completion. After the recovery window expires, student writing content is deleted from the Services.

The Services may retain certain non-identifying session, project, product, and usage signals after student writing content is removed from the Services. These signals may be used for reporting, product functionality, service improvement, diagnostics, and aggregated analytics purposes. Retained signals may include writing structure or planning phase selections, session timing information, time to start writing, time on task, writing pace, support tool usage, whether writing resumed after support, project or session status, and excluded-session flags. These retained signals do not include student names, full student writing content, grades, grammar scoring, writing quality scoring, or revision analysis.

Session reports and project reports contain non-identifying behavioral and engagement patterns and are accessible solely to the teacher who created the project.

Teachers represent and warrant that they have any required authorization from their school or district to use third-party educational tools with students before using Write with Milo in a classroom setting. The Company is not responsible for a teacher’s failure to obtain required authorizations.

Children’s Privacy

Write with Milo is designed to be used by teachers, not directly by students or minors. Teachers may not allow students to register for accounts or submit personal information through the Website. Student session access is limited to temporary codes that do not require personal information.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have received personal information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@writewithmilo.com.

Feedback and Support Submissions

The Website may offer feedback forms or support request features that allow teachers to submit comments, questions, or other communications to the Company (collectively, “Submissions”). By submitting any Submission, you grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and incorporate your Submission for the purposes of improving the Services.

All Submissions must comply with these Terms of Use. You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of any Submission you make. Submissions must not:

  • Contain defamatory, obscene, abusive, or otherwise objectionable material
  • Infringe any intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity
  • Contain personally identifiable information about students or minors
  • Contain protected health information as defined under HIPAA
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation

We reserve the right to remove or decline to act on any Submission for any reason at our sole discretion.

Protected Health Information

Protected health information (“PHI”) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”), including but not limited to health care history, mental or physical conditions, or treatment information, must not be submitted or shared through the Website. If you believe PHI has been submitted through the Website, contact us immediately at privacy@writewithmilo.com.

ANY CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE WEBSITE MUST BE COMMENCED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES. AFTER THAT PERIOD, SUCH CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.

Waiver and Severability

No waiver by the Company of any term or condition of these Terms of Use shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or any other term or condition. If any provision of these Terms of Use is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
